ihana Youth Choir

ihana Youth Choir is an exciting and vibrant vocal ensemble for singers ages 15 – 24 who have a passion for choral music. The choir rehearses Tuesdays 6-9 pm and is providing an opportunity for the youth in Red Deer and surrounding communities to strive for a high level of musical artistry and integrity and sing in a supportive and encouraging environment. This enthusiastic and very energetic, close-knit group of teenagers and young adults work together to enrich their lives and the lives of everyone they meet through song and community.

ihana is a Finnish word that means wonderful, marvelous, and is a fitting way to describe this choir and their recent experience in Sun Peaks, BC and Banff, AB, where they performed 4 showcase concerts for the Cantando Music Festival and Canadian Rocky Mountain Festival. Ihana also traveled to Edmonton in November 2014 where they worked with two guest clinicians. ihana was a showcase choir in Banff for the CRMF in April 2014 and participated in the Voices West Festival Nov. 8-11, 2013 with 5 other community vocal ensembles/choirs from Western Canada. Like us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/ihana
